Winter storm could bring another 6 inches of snow to NYC

Another fierce winter storm could dump more than six inches on the city Thursday, accompanied by winds gusting in the 45 to 50 mph range, forecasters said.

“The worst-case scenario” is for the storm to remain all-snow, said AccuWeather meteorologist Frank Strait. “That could easily mean over a foot of snow.”

More probable, he said, was three to six inches of snow early Thursday, followed by several hours of sleet.
