New de Blasio aide took heat in ‘07 online flap

Mayor de Blasio appointed a half-dozen new members to his administration Monday — including a commissioner and two legislative-affairs liaisons.

De Blasio also named as senior adviser a longtime associate, Peter Ragone, who as press secretary in San Francisco’s City Hall took heat for using other people’s names to post online support for that city’s mayor, according to media reports.

De Blasio’s press office did not respond to questions about the 2007 flap.

He also tapped former Dinkins administration officials Bill Chong as commissioner of youth and community development and Mindy Tarlow as operations director.

Three campaign and transition press aides — Wiley Norvell, Phil Walzak and Rebecca Katz — have also been hired by the administration.

De Blasio has yet to name a press secretary.
