COPS NAB TEEN SLAY SUSPECT

A Manhattan teen who escaped from a Bronx juvenile detention center after being charged with murder was recaptured yesterday living among the homeless in Washington Heights, cops said.

Jesus Tolentino, 16, scaled a wall of the Horizons facility in Mott Haven on June 8, a month after he was locked up for stabbing Herman Lantigua, 42.

Cops said he plunged a knife into Lantigua’s back while the older man argued with a friend of Tolentino’s on May 5. He is to be tried as an adult.

Police said Tolentino took refuge for the past 10 days beneath the Henry Hudson Parkway in Upper Manhattan with older homeless people. Detectives picked him up just after 6 p.m. and remanded him to another juvenile facility, where he will be considered a flight risk as he awaits his murder trial.
