SENATE EYEING ETHICS VOTE

ALBANY — The state Senate may finally get ethical — after Labor Day.

The chamber, which in recent weeks has been beset by seemingly endless reports of nepotism, petty feuding and political horse-trading, is mulling a return to Albany on Sept. 10 — to vote on a comprehensive ethics-reform proposal.

Senate sources say Democratic leaders are considering a bill or a package of bills that incorporate elements of proposals backed by Gov. Paterson, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and good-government groups.
