Andrews suspect out on bail, eyed other women

CHICAGO — The accused peeping tom who allegedly stalked ESPN sports reporter Erin Andrews and uploaded her images on the Internet also spied on other women, federal prosecutors said today.

Following the hearing, a judge ruled that Michael David Barrett, 48, would have to post $4,500 bond, wear an electronic monitoring device and be barred from accessing the Internet on his computer or cell phone once he is released.

Barrett must also obey a curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

As of this afternoon, Barrett had not yet posted bail.

The Chicago-area insurance salesman is accused of stalking the ESPN babe and taking creepy nude videos of her while she was in hotel rooms on various assignments. Andrews was videotaped with a cell phone video camera, through hotel-door peepholes, according to federal investigators who arrested Barrett on Friday.

Federal prosecutor Steve Grimes said Barrett had also taped other women through hotel peepholes and uploaded under an online name.

Grimes did not name the other women.

He also said Barrett targeted Andrews because he lusted after her.

Prosecutors have also said they plan to try Barrett in Los Angeles, the home of celebrity gossip Web site TMZ.com. Barrett allegedly tried to sell his creepy footage to TMZ in July, triggering the federal probe that led to his arrest.
