This week’s couple: A reboot on love

Megan, a 22-year-old restaurant hostess, and Brad, a 21-year-old student, discovered they had loads of connections on their date at Upper East Side Mexican eatery MXco. But when the all-important question of computer compatibility came up, they learned Megan’s a Mac person while Brad is strictly PC. So did the pair get past this technological glitch, or, in this age, is computer incompatibility an insurmountable difference?

He said:

When I first met Megan, I thought she was really cute — and since I didn’t know anything about her before the date, I was really happy that I could go out with someone I was physically attracted to.

Megan told me that she would like to work for a nonprofit organization that helps children. This was really impressive, and really drove home that Megan is a super-sweet girl with admirable goals. At one point, we were talking about our computers, and I was appalled to find out she uses a Mac. I just don’t understand people who don’t go for a less expensive PC. It was also just a fun thing to joke around about.

I can’t tell if there’s a true romantic interest right now, but I could possibly see one in the future. We didn’t exchange numbers, but I know we’ll be able to contact each other. There’s always Facebook!

She said:

Brad and I walked into the restaurant at the exact same time, and at first it was a little awkward. Once we sat down, we started to have a pretty fluid conversation. We talked about our interests, where we’re from and living in New York. I thought it was really cool that Brad is from California and was on his high school’s surf team.

Unfortunately, I did discover that Brad is a PC person, which is a strike against him. I am without a doubt a Mac person, and have never had any luck with PC guys. In all seriousness though, Brad is a genuine, nice guy, and I really enjoyed our conversation.

I had to initiate a goodbye hug, but I didn’t feel slighted. I would definitely hang out with him again.
