A city doctor whose low-cost health-care plan was popular with patients but peeved state pencil-pushers has settled with the bureaucrats.
Dr. John Muney will continue operating his AMG Medical Group clinics in all five boroughs and continue charging patients $79 a month. But in a compromise with the state Insurance Department, he’ll more-than-triple the amount he charges as a co-pay.
“I just wanted to charge the flat rate,” he said. “Most likely, [patients] will struggle with it.”
