SPITZ PROBER A RISING STAR

Boyd Johnson III, the prosecutor who headed the Eliot Spitzer call-girl probe, is now the No. 2 man in the Southern District of New York’s US Attorney’s Office.

Johnson, formerly chief of the office’s public corruption and international narcotics and trafficking units, yesterday was named deputy US attorney by Preet Bharara, who took over this month as district head.

Among other moves, Bharara tabbed Raymond Lohier — who helped get $400 million-scam lawyer Marc Dreier sentenced to 20 years in prison — to run the criminal division’s securities and commodities fraud task force.
