NO BUTTS ABOUT IT: PRICIEST SEATS COME UP EMPTY

Maybe the reason the best tickets at the new Yankee Stadium are called “Legends” seats is that fans willing to fork over $2,625 a game are mostly mythical.

Dozens of the cushioned blue seats with teak armrests — which start at $525 — have been unoccupied at the games following the Opening Day sellout.

Traditionally, the best seats in the house sell out first, but at the new stadium — and in this economy — the only tickets available are the wallet-bleed seats.

At Sunday’s game, nearly 7,000 seats at the stadium were empty, the large majority of them at field level.

“Even if you have the money to buy the tickets, why would you pay $2,000 for a baseball game?” Francie Spatola, 29, of New Jersey, said at last night’s rained-out game.

“You can still get a great view of the game without paying that much.”

But team officials insist they’re happy with attendance. “We are pleased,” a spokeswoman told The Post.

The empty seats are the result of a combination of no-shows, unsold tickets and fans who are up exploring the stadium or enjoying the private Legends club, she said.
