CON ED BRIBE RAP VS. BIZMAN

The 82-year-old owner of a Brooklyn construction firm was charged yesterday with bribing Con Ed officials to the tune of nearly $60,000 in return for signing off on his inflated invoices — many for post-9/11 repairs.

Roadway Inc. CEO Russell Ball posted $100,000 bond, secured by his Vermont vacation home.

Ball handed over between $20,000 and $30,000 in cash and $27,800 in checks to a Con Ed construction supervisor, who shared the loot with his corrupt colleagues, according to papers filed in Brooklyn federal court.

Much of Roadway’s repair work for Con Ed was in lower Manhattan after 9/11.
