TV’s take 2

(
)

Don’t look now, but it’s almost 2011 — and al most time for a brand- new TV season.

Well, sort of.

With January just around the corner, that means the broadcast and cable networks will start premiering their midseason replacement shows, designed to plug leaks in prime-time schedules and replace shows that now reside in TV’s vast graveyard.

Here’s a quick look at some of the new upcoming midseason replacements:

NBC:

* “The Cape” (Jan. 9): Stars David Lyons (“ER“) as cop Vince Farraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force who’s framed for a series of murders he didn’t commit. Separated from his wife and son and forced into hiding, he’s inspired by his son’s favorite comic book to battle the man who framed him.

* “Harry’s Law” (Jan. 17): Yet another legal show from David E. Kelley (“Ally McBeal,” “Boston Legal“), this one stars Kathy Bates as Harriet Korn, a recently canned patent lawyer who bands together with friends to form a new law firm — which works out of a rundown shoe store.

* “Perfect Couples” (Jan. 20): An “ensemble romantic comedy” that follows three different couples, each in different stages of their relationships.

FOX:

* “Bob’s Burgers” (Jan. 9): This animated sitcom follows the Belcher family — led by brush-mustached Bob (the voice of H. Jon Benjamin) — that runs a “floundering” hamburger joint.

* “Chicago Code” (Feb. 7): A Windy City cop drama created by Shawn Ryan (“The Shield“) which pairs the world-weary veteran (Jason Clarke) with the eager upstart (Matt Lauria).

Syfy:

* “Being Human” (Jan. 17) is the US adaptation of the hit British paranormal dramedy about three roommates — a vampire Aidan (Sam Witwer), werewolf Josh (Sam Huntington) and ghost Sally (Meaghan Rath) — who hide their supernatural lives.

USA:

* “Fairly Legal” (Jan. 20) follows Kate Reed (Sarah Shahi), a high-powered litigator who quits to become a mediator. Complicating her life are her stepmom/boss Lauren Reed (Virginia Williams) and her soon-to-be ex-husband/assistant district attorney Justin Patrick (Michael Trucco).

CBS:

* “Live to Dance” (Jan. 4): Former “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul returns to prime time as the host of this freeform dance competition series.

MTV:

* “Skins” (Jan. 17), yet another adaptation of a racy cult British series, follows a group of high school friends through their experiments with drugs, sex, friendship and heartbreak.

ABC:

* “Off the Map” (Jan. 12) moves the “Grey’s Anatomy” formula to the South American jungle, where four doctors treat patients at an understaffed medical clinic.
