Malandrino

Upon first entering the Malandrino presentation at the Chelsea Art Museum, one’s first thought was: whoa, don’t mess with this. And by “this,” we mean the row of black-clad models perched atop individual platforms. They looked tough, they looked chic, but mostly, they just looked fierce.

Malandrino’s Fall 2010 woman is filled with juxtapositions: she seeks comfort in giant shearlings and fox furs, yet she still enjoys her nights on the town in an off-the-shoulder paillette dress. She appreciates the chic comfort in a pair of jodhpur pants, but still likes to rock a fitted black leather jacket with dramatic fur fringe running down the front. She embodies a timeless sense of chic, but isn’t afraid to dip into exotic territory, as evidenced by her cheetah and zebra printed floaty frocks and her giant, raw-edged blue stone necklaces.

The collection was filled with instant hits – pieces you’ll be reaching for over and over again. We recommend you start saying your pennies now.
