Reed: Let’s go Knicks!

With the Knicks amid their franchise-record ninth straight losing season, Willis Reed wants to be proud of his former team again.

“I could never have thought any of this could have happened; that they could be this bad for this long,” the 68-year-old Knicks legend told The Post yesterday.

“But I know from my one year working for [Knicks owner James] Dolan [in 2004-05] that he wants to win and he will do whatever it takes to win.

“They’ve got a lot of work ahead of them, but they get two stars, things change quickly,” said Reed, who was in Manhattan yesterday to promote the new fan-involvement formula for NBA MVP voting.

As for the Knicks getting LeBron James, Reed said, “I’ve got my fingers crossed and I’m praying.”

Reed said of his old teammate Walt Frazier turning 65 this week, “He’s aged well.”
