Notorious Duke ‘rape’ house razed

Duke University yesterday demolished the house where a stripper falsely claimed she was raped by members of the school lacrosse team, WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC, reported.

The house in the Trinity Park neighborhood of Durham, NC, has been unoccupied since the explosive 2006 arrest of three players on rape charges.

It took a year and an investigation by the North Carolina attorney general before the men were exonerated. Later, local DA Mike Nifong was disbarred for withholding exculpatory DNA evidence.

It was not immediately clear why the home was destroyed.
