Tearful Lo road to jail

Lindsay’s on lockdown.

A “scared,” teary-eyed Lindsay Lohan spent her first night in the big house — enduring a full body cavity search, nasty prison food and donning the standard-issue orange jumpsuit — after surrendering yesterday for a 90-day jail stretch.

The “Mean Girls” actress had earlier entered the Beverly Hills courthouse expressionless, with a dead stare — even as someone in the throng outside tossed confetti in her direction.

Inside, she showed no emotion as an LA County sheriff’s deputy slapped a pair of cuffs on her wrists to send her to jail.

When she was whisked out of the courtroom following the brief hearing, her estranged dad Michael Lohan yelled, “We love you, Lindsay!” But the Long Island native didn’t flinch.

In a glimmer of hope for the troubled star, Lohan, as a nonviolent offender, will probably do only about 14 days of her sentence because of jail overcrowding, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

“She’s stepped up; she’s accepted responsibility,” defense lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley said outside. “She’s scared, as anyone would be, but she’s as resolute and she’s doing it.”

Deputies placed Lohan in the back of a sedan with tinted windows. That car, followed by another, then took off on the 23-mile journey to the Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.

With TV news helicopters hovering above it, the procession made its way through stop-and-go LA traffic. Photographers along the route jumped into traffic, snapping photos of Lohan inside the car when it stopped. At the jail, the cars pulled under a blue tarp, and she was taken inside.

Inmate Annette Valley, 39, who was being released just as Lohan was checking in, said the actress’s steely façade crumbled like a ton of bricks as she arrived for her jail stint.

“We saw her getting out of the car. She looked teary-eyed,” said Valley, who had finished her sentence for pot possession, disturbing the peace and vandalism.

“She looked like she had been crying, but we all greeted her. We all said, ‘God bless you,’ and then she smiled at everyone.”

The entire facility had been placed on lockdown for an hour before, during and after Lohan’s processing. As part of being booked, the 5-foot-6, 118-pound blonde had to be strip-searched and undergo a cavity exam before she was sent to her cell in protective custody, sources told The Post.

Her first dinner was spaghetti and broccoli.

In an uncomfortable twist, Lohan’s 12-by-8 foot cell is right next to that of reality TV starlet Alexis Neiers, Whitmore said. Neiers, 19, is doing six months for ripping off actor Orlando Bloom as part of the infamous Hollywood “Bling Ring” gang, which also broke into Lohan’s house.

Lindsay landed in jail for violating terms of her drunken-driving probation by repeatedly blowing off booze counseling.

Once she is released, the actress also has to do 90 days in a locked-down rehab center.
