Late registration: Kanye finally signs up for Twitter

Kanye West, who ranted on his blog last year about Twitter users posing as celebrities (specifically as Kanye West), on Wednesday admitted he had joined the popular site and has been tweeting the afternoon away.

At last count, West tweeted 15 times in his first four hours on the service. Most of them were shout outs to media organizations including New York Magazine, Rolling Stone and MTV, all of whom had written about him on Wednesday.

He had only one small problem on his first day: He misspelled Silicon Valley as Silicone Valley.

In May 2009, West ranted on his blog about Twitter, declaring at the time, “Everything that Twitter offers, I need less of.”

He continued to unload against the popular networking site saying he was too busy to tweet and blasting it for allowing users to send out missives using his name.

West wrote that he did not use Twitter because he was “too busy being creative most of the time.” He added that “it’s a f***** farce and it makes me question what other so called celebrity twitters are actually real or fake.”
