First, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand overcame a barrage of political challengers and a state full of naysayers.
Now, the woman who filled Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Senate seat has another feather to stick in her cap — being named the hottest member of Congress.
Coming in third overall in The Hill newspaper’s just-released 50 Most Beautiful list — which is open to staffers, lobbyists and other politicos — New York’s junior senator outranked all her fellow lawmakers, as well as a bevy of Beltway beauties, including a 23-year-old who gets mistaken for Katie Holmes and a former Miss America pageant contestant.
“She was only No. 3?” joked a spokeswoman for Gillibrand, Bethany Lesser.
Topping the list were two bombshell brunettes — Alexis Latifi, a 24-year-old staff assistant for Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), and lobbyist Laura Donahoe.
Gillibrand, who has two sons, Theodore, 6, and Henry, 2, was billed as a “supermom” who splits her busy schedule between her family, penning bills, and staying fit.
