CBS is replacing “As the World Turns” with a talk show for mommies.
The as-yet-unnamed, hour-long show will be co-hosted by creator Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Julie Chen –all moms to kids ranging from babies to adults.
Using their perspectives as moms, they will yak about news and pop culture events of the day, screen self-shot footage from their homes and interview celebrity guests.
The talk show will be filmed live before a studio audience in Los Angeles.
Once it starts, Chen will have to give up some of her “Early Show” news duties.
“Julie will continue to have an important on-air role with ‘The Early Show’ . . . but she no longer will be one of the daily co-anchors of the broadcast,” a Cbs News spokesperson said.
The talk show is expected to begin airing in October.
