Hubby-hunter who rented Hamptons house for $500G besieged by suitors

The husband-hunting millionaire who plunked down a record-breaking $500,000 for a two-week Hamptons rental is being chased by enough suitors to fill the mega home’s 14 bedrooms three times over.

Since The Post reported Cheryl Mercuris’ plan to use the exquisite Bridgehampton mansion to land a lover yesterday, she has been inundated with phone calls and e-mails from guys looking to cozy up to the shapely single mom. “Cheryl I saw your article in the post I’m a young guy working in the brokerage business right here in Long Island,” wrote one of her many gentleman e-mailers. “I would like to show you around.”

The self-made, 40-something Florida entrepreneur says she has also received hundreds of friend requests on Facebook and been besieged by a torrent of text messages from well-heeled East Enders offering to set her up.

“It was worth every penny,” the deep-pocketed divorcée told The Post. “I’ve never had more fun, and I’ve never met as many exciting people and such friendly people — not to mention the publicity.”

A 29-year-old investment banker, and former college basketball player, put on a full court press.

“I was reading the Post today and saw your picture in an article and thought that you are very beautiful,” he e-mailed. “Next time when you are in Manhattan I would like to take you to dinner or just drinks. I know my age might scare you but I am a very mature, hard working businessman.”

Though the suitor gave few details about his appearance, he made clear he is at least tall, if not also dark and handsome.

“I am tall (6′ 7) so not sure if that scares you,” he wrote. “Let me know if you would like to meet for drinks or coffee one day.”

Mercuris, who made her fortune by starting a telemarketing firm, said it’s strange to be the one being hounded by phone calls and e-mails.

“My life has been boring up until now,” she said. “My phone has been ringing off the hook.”

So far she has not responded to any of the offers.

Between raising her 6-year-old son and running a company, Mercuris said she hasn’t allowed much time for romance.

“Dating is new for me,” she said. “I really haven’t been dating lately because I devote 24/7 to my work and to spending time with my son.”

Even if she doesn’t find true love, the big bucks she paid developer Joe Farrell may still be worth it, she said. If she doesn’t find a husband, she will probably find a house.

“Without Joe, none of this would have happened,” she said. “I’m so impressed with Joe that I’m considering having him build me a house in the Hamptons.”
