More errors lead to an ugly loss

Cyclones 4

Crosscutters 9

Friday, Aug. 13 at Williamsport

This game started off badly and got worse. Cory Vaughn was cut down at the plate in the first inning trying to turn a triple into an inside-the-park homer.

Yes, Darrell Ceciliani knocked in a run with a single in the third, but in the home part of the frame, the Cyclones fell apart, giving up four runs thanks to a throwing and a fielding error by Luis Nieves.

Brian Harrison hit a two-run dinger in the sixth, but the Cyclone pen yielded another two runs in the bottom of the inning — this time, Harrison committed the key error.

Ceciliani, who is trying to be the first player in the New York–Penn League to hit .400 since 1971, went 2-for-4, raising his average to .372.

The Cyclones increased their first-place lead to eight games.
