Nip/tuck doc ‘text’ tragedy

A plastic surgeon-to-the-stars who sculpted some of Tinseltown’s most famous faces and boobs was killed when he drove his car off a California cliff while sending a text message, cops said yesterday.

Dr. Frank Ryan — a 50-year-old Beverly Hills surgeon best known for his repeated work on reality-TV star Heidi Montag — was pronounced dead after his Jeep rolled 200 feet down an embankment off the Pacific Coast Highway Monday afternoon.

“He was the most amazing person I have ever known,” said Montag, who went under the knife at least 10 times. “[He] changed the world.”

Ryan’s other patients included rockers Gene Simmons and Vince Neil and models Janice Dickinson and Adrianne Curry.

Minutes before the 4:30 p.m. crash near Ventura, Ryan had climbed to the top of Thornhill Broome, a famed local sand dune, snapped a picture of his beloved border collie Jill and posted it on Twitter.

“After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of Malibu,” Ryan wrote. “Much harder than it looks! Whew!”

His collie caption read: “Border collie jill surveying the view from atop the sand dune.”

Ryan was headed back to his ranch near Malibu when he crashed while texting, cops told People magazine.

The doctor was wearing a seat belt, and his vehicle landed upside down.

Booze and drugs do not appear to be factors. Jill the dog was hurt, but is expected to live.

Even though Ryan might be best remembered for his work on Montag, the doctor once said he was the one who stopped her from getting more work.

“I counseled her many times and told Heidi, ‘These are a little bit big, and the bigger you go, the more the complication risk increases,’ ” he told Radar Online in January.
