Aaron Sorkin’s new HBO drama, “The Newsroom,” premiered to decent numbers Sunday night.
The show — about life at an all-news cable network — averaged 2.1 million viewers and added another 600,000 viewers in its repeat telecast.
When final numbers are released, viewership numbers will increase a bit, due to OnDemand and DVR numbers.
“Newsroom” stars Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill, Olivia Munn and Dev Patel.
It marks Sorkin’s return to series TV following the short-lived NBC series, “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,” which followed life behind a late-night sketch-comedy show modeled on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”
