Manhattan prosecutors hit a jeweler-to-the-stars with a new misdemeanor weapons charge yesterday for allegedly smacking around a stranger with a cheap umbrella during an argument over a Christopher Street parking spot last month.
“It was a $2 bodega umbrella, and it was raining!” Dawnelle Yager, 42, told The Post as she left Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday (pictured).
Prosecutors say Yager, whose designs have been worn by Kim Kardashian and Vanessa Hudgens, struck spa worker Meng Dong, 30, with the umbrella hard enough to cause cuts and bruises.
Yager “certainly was not the aggressor here,” said her lawyer, Edward Kratt.
She’s already been charged with third-degree assault, attempted assault and harassment. She is due back in court on Sept. 10.
