The white lion is a rare color mutation of the Kruger subspecies of lion (Pantera leon krugeri). This is due to a recessive gene. They are not albino as they do have pigmentation in vital parts such as eyes, paws and lips. Their condition is called leucism. EPA

This mother elephant rescued her trapped baby from a watering hole after he became stuck in the mud.
