Kerry wins OK for State

WASHINGTON — Sen. John Kerry was easily confirmed as secretary of state yesterday, replacing Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The Vietnam vet and onetime Democratic presidential candidate got unanimous support from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which he once led.

He then sailed through the Senate, which approved his nomination by 94-3.

Meanwhile, Clinton — who will officially step down Friday — dodged buzz about a possible 2016 presidential run while answering a question at a worldwide Internet “town hall” meeting in yesterday.

“Well I’m not thinking about anything like that right now,” she said. “I’m looking forward to finishing my tenure as secretary of state.”
