Six suspects sought in anti-gay subway assault

Six suspects are wanted by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force for attacking a man on the subway and yelling anti-gay slurs at him, authorities said.

The 23-year-old victim was on a downtown 2-train Monday at 6:05 p.m. when he noticed a woman taking pictures of him and his friend, police said.

The man confronted the woman and asked her to stop – which set off her anti-gay tirade, cops said.

The suspect continued yelling at the man before three men and two other women joined in and started attacking him, police said.

The two were able to flee the train at West 96th Street and Broadway, police said. The victim was treated at St. Lukes Hospital for minor injuries, including a cut over his left eye, cops said.

All six suspects, two of which are sketched here, are believed to be in their early 20’s, police said.
