Slay-spree trial is set

An unhinged Staten Island man accused of killing three Brooklyn store owners was found competent to stand trial, a Brooklyn Supreme Court judge ruled yesterday.

Salvatore Perrone, 64, repeatedly asked to see his daughter.

“She’s the only person I trust who can clear me in this matter,” the accused killer said.

But prosecutors say that won’t happen.

“It’s my understanding that his ex-wife and his daughter do not want any contact with him,” said Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney Melissa Carvajal.
