Giant goldfish — weighing up to 4 pounds and up to a foot and a half long — have been caught in Lake Tahoe.

The jumbo intruders likely had been small pets that had been discarded in the lake, where favorable conditions let them keep growing.

A Michigan man was bowled over when he accidentally flushed his wedding ring down the toilet and a city worker figured out how to get it back.

Joe Myers, of Grand Rapids, and his wife took the toilet apart but didn’t find the $500 titanium band with three diamonds.

They called the city, and a public-works employee put a filtering device on a nearby sewer line and got the ring back.

US government scientists are taking on brown tree snakes that have been infesting Guam and killing native birds — with a planned airdrop of poisoned dead mice on the jungle canopy.

They’ll lace the mouse bait with acetaminophen, the active ingredient in painkillers.

It’s toxic to the brown tree snakes but harmless to humans.

There was a lot of rubbernecking when a young couple in China whose parents were trying to keep them apart stripped naked and stood on a bridge in Guangzhou, embracing and threatening to jump.

The cold weather cooled their ardor, and they gave themselves up. “Our biggest problem was blocking traffic so motorists didn’t drive into each other trying to get a better look,’’ said a police spokesman.
