This week’s couple: Sweet time

DINNER dates are for those who like tradition. But Eddie, 32, and Katie, 33, didn’t seem like the traditional types. So we skipped entrees and sent them on a Sugartooth Tour, where they tried desserts at six different locations in Hell’s Kitchen. Did all the suchrose give Eddie and Katie a rush, or did they leave with a bad taste in their mouths?

He said:

I arrived at the meet-up spot for the dessert-tasting Sugartooth Tour. When Katie arrived, her smile lit up our small nook of Times Square.

Katie and I slipped easily into casual conversation, but we had to zip it every so often so our tour guide could tell us about the history of some of the shops we visited. It was a great idea for a date and of course, delicious.

Things were going so well that we went for a drink after to get to know each other better. I learned she’s into basketball just like me, and loves Halloween, one of my favorite holidays, too. When I told her about the trivia nights I run, I joked about making her my partner at the next one.

I had a really good time. I think we’ll be seeing each other again.

She said:

When I arrived at the starting point for the tour, I introduced myself to the tour guide. Eddie was standing next to her and introduced himself. The first thing I noticed was that he has a pretty great smile.

We talked about typical first-date things like where we’re from and our favorite NYC neighborhoods. But I knew Eddie and I would get along when he suggested that for our date picture, I stuff his face with a dessert.

After the picture and the tour, we went to a nearby bar. The conversation there was about our mutual love for basketball and crazy Halloween costumes. I’m pretty sure we’ll hang out again soon.
