Premier League games to be on NBC

All 380 English Premier League soccer games will be televised live by NBC and its cable networks next season as part of a multiyear, $250 million contract.

The games begin Aug. 17 and will be carried on NBC, NBC Sports Network, Telemundo, Mun2 and other NBC cable channels,

NBC itself is scheduled to air 20 games, with 154 on the fledgling NBC Sports Network, a new competitor to ESPN.

On the final day of the season, NBC says, every game will air simultaneously across all the networks’ channels including Bravo, E!, USA and MSNBC.

The games will be airing early in the morning due to the time difference with Britain — some starting as early as 7 a.m. and a Game-of-the- Week-style broadcast at 12:30 every Saturday on NBC.

The deal will cement the world’s most-watched soccer league into the landscape of American TV — alongside the NFL, baseball and basketball, albeit at a much earlier hour — for the first time.

NBC has sole rights to league for the next three years at a fee of $250 million.

Arlo White, who currently calls MLS games on NBCSN, will handle play-by-play from England. Former Premier League players Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux will handle analysis.

Former England national team star Gary Lineker will be a special contributor.
