Police investigate tragic death of 3-year-old Bronx girl

Cops are investigating the tragic death of a three-year-old girl in Riverdale yesterday, authorities said.

The mother of Ahyna Louis-Hardy, 3, had asked her boyfriend to baby-sit the tot in her Manhattan College Parkway apartment near 242nd Street, police sources said.

He told cops that Louis-Hardy fell down the stairs, and passed out shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, sources said.

When cops arrived, they found the child unconscious, and she was taken to Montefiore Hospital for treatment.

Her body was bruised, and she did not survive, sources said.

It was not immediately clear whether her death is criminal, and police are awaiting for the results of an autopsy.

ACS is investigating the tragic death.

Residents in the building were shaken up.

“It’s really sad that this happened,” said the building’s super Francisco Medrano. “It’s terrible. I don’t know what happened.”

Neighbor Fred Mateo, 70, was shocked by the death. “I never would have thought it’s a three-year-old girl,” he said. “That is so sad. I can’t believe it.”
