A bank that accidentally deposited over $30,000 in a Brooklyn man’s account is suing him because he quickly withdrew every last dime — and refuses to pay it back, court documents state.
Last year, a Carver Federal Savings Bank employee mistakenly dropped $30,048.42 into Joseph Nicholson Jr.’s lap.
Nicholson noticed his newfound riches a week later and quickly transferred the $30,000 from his personal account to his business account and drained it, the Brooklyn Supreme Court suit states.
When the bank discovered its mistake it unsuccessfully tried to cancel an $18,000 check he had written.
A bank attorney didn’t return calls. Nicholson couldn’t be reached.
