Giants co-owner Tisch: Tebow to Jets wasn’t in ‘anybody’s best interest’

Count Giants co-owner Steve Tisch among those who thinks the Jets trading for Tim Tebow was not a smart move.

“Had another team picked him up, after the Broncos, maybe he’d have a career. I think him going from the Broncos to the Jets was not in anybody’s best interest,” Tisch said in a TMZ video posted on the website on Monday morning.

Tisch took that jab at the Jets, but went on to say he doesn’t think Tebow is an awful quarterback and hope he lands with an NFL team for next season.

“I do feel bad for him. I hope he plays football. I think he’s got talent, I think he’s probably a decent guy and not a bad quarterback,” Tisch said, “I sincerely wish him all the best. I think he should try to get a job in the NFL, not in the Lingerie League.”

Tebow has been offered a coaching job with the Lingerie Football League and has several CFL offers on the table. He was released by the Jets on April 29 after the team drafted Geno Smith and signed David Garrard in the offseason.

Despite Tisch’s semi-praise of Tebow, don’t expect the Giants to think about adding Tebow to the roster. Quarterback Eli Manning hasn’t missed a game in over eight seasons.
