‘I was trying to fish it out’: husband says he was wiping snot out of Nigella Lawson’s nose in ‘choke’ pics

Charles Saatchi last night claimed he jabbed and twisted wife Nigella Lawson’s nose…to pick out some “snot.”

In an increasingly bizarre explanation for his behavior, he said he was helping the TV cook during their row in a restaurant.

Saatchi, 70, insisted: “Even domestic goddesses sometimes have a bit of snot in their nose. I was trying to fish it out.”

The Sun told last week how the millionaire art dealer had accepted a police caution for assault, although he claims the 27-minute row — during which he also grabbed Nigella’s throat — was just a “playful tiff”.

Nigella, 53, was snapped grimacing at Scott’s restaurant in London’s Mayfair, before dabbing her watering eyes and nostrils with a napkin.

Since the tiff Nigella and Saatchi have been living separately in London but now the TV chef could bolt to Los Angeles where she’ll be filming the second season of ABC’s cooking show “The Taste.”

“They are not speaking and she wants to get out of the media glare. Her profile isn’t particularly high over in Los Angeles and she can easily blend in there,” a friend told The Sun.

Dubbed a cooking version of “The Voice,” Nigella is one of the judges/mentors on “The Taste” along with fellow celebrity chefs Anthony Bourdain, Ludo Lefebrvre, and Brian Malarkey.
