DA: Convicted child molester Jesse Friedman found with porno stories during his time in prison

The convicted Long Island child molester who was the subject of the Oscar nominated documentary “Capturing the Friedmans” was found with disturbing pornography in his cell, including depraved tales about child sex, incest and bestiality, according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.

The contested accusations come as Jesse Friedman seeks to have his sex offender status lifted so he and his wife can raise children of their own.

Just this week, the Nassau County DA released the results of a three-year probe — spurred by the 2003 film’s stance that Friedman was innocent — that affirmed his guilt and blasted the film for claiming he’d been wrongfully prosecuted.

But Friedman’s attorneys argued in court today that he was eventually cleared of having the porn – and that the Nassau DA wrongly accused him of writing the smut in their official report.

But the office held firm in their position today despite Friedman’s attorney, Ron Kuby, presenting documents that he said show that he was exonerated.

“Prison disciplinary records show that Friedman was caught possessing a magazine photograph depicting two nude children, and was punished for writing allegedly fictional accounts of bestiality, incest and child rape,” reads an excerpt from kathleen Rice’s report on the case issued Monday.

Spurred by the sympathetic 2003 documentary that cast doubt on his guilt, Friedman has been waging a campaign to have his conviction tossed and to be taken off the sex offender’s list.

Pressure to reinvestigate the case grew so intense that the Nassau County DA spent three years producing a report that eventually reaffirmed their belief in Friedman’s guilt and blasted “Capturing the Friedmans” and filmmaker Andrew Jarecki as being biased in his favor.

Now working as a book dealer in Bridgeport, Conn., Friedman claims he gave a false confession to police to avoid a life sentence and that his accusers trumped up the raps against him.
