Man in subway suicide leap

A man committed suicide by hurling himself in front of an A-train in Washington Heights, authorities said.

The victim leaped onto the tracks at Broadway and West 168th as the train was pulling in around 12:25 p.m., today, sources sad.

“As the train turned the corner a man jumped in front of it,” said an MTA source. “He knew what he was doing.”

Power was shut off on the southbound side. Sources said the driver, who was going about 28 mph, attempted to brake but couldn’t in time.

“I saw the ambulance, fire truck and cops,” said a nearby vender. “They rushed up and they were all running down there so I knew something happened.”
