A Brooklyn man with a mile-long rap sheet escaped from criminal court today because cops weren’t paying attention, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
Corpus Hernandez, 37, of East Flatbush, was in police custody and awaiting arraignment on drug charges this afternoon when he slipped out unnoticed around 4:30, the sources said.
Cops are now searching for the man, who has at least 30 previous arrests, the sources said. He was not wearing cuffs.
Hernandez has a tattoo on his neck that says “Maria.”
It was the second time this month that someone escaped from Brooklyn court.
Ramon Ortega, 36, slipped away on March 6 after taking a bathroom break on his way back to his holding cell in 120 Schermerhorn St. He was caught four hours later.
“I can’t even imagine how this happened again,” said a law-enforcement source. “Clearly someone’s asleep on the job.”
