MEGAWATT comedy stars Conan O’Brien, Robin Williams and Lewis Black are joining forces with the Bob Woodruff Family Fund at this year’s New York Comedy Festival on Nov. 7 for a special performance called “Stand Up for Heroes.”
Woodruff, a reporter for
ABC News, was severely injured in Iraq by a roadside bomb in 2006 and sustained multiple life-threatening wounds. His family established the fund a year later to help members of the military who are injured while serving the country.
“It’s perfect that this event is based on comedy . . . since laughter was a huge part of our recovery,” Woodruff’s wife, Lee, tells The Post.
More information about the benefit, which will be held at 8 p.m. at Town Hall and also feature a performance by Bruce Springsteen, can be found by e-mailing benefit@freud.com.
