WHAT’S UP

TODAY

BIRDS OF PLAY: Pigeons aren’t the only winged things native to the city. Learn more about Brooklyn’s birds of prey at the Audubon Center of Prospect Park’s Hawk Weekend, complete with live birds, avian arts and crafts, games and more. While you’re in the park, stop by Lefferts Historic House for the Harvest Days Festival, with tot-friendly fun like sack races and butter churning. Hawk activies from noon to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow; Harvest Days from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, free. Prospect Park, Willink Entrance (Flatbush Avenue and Empire Boulevard); (718) 965-8999.

RUSSIAN SEA ROOM: From walrus to fur seals, the coast of Russia teems with wildlife – much like the New York Aquarium, where this weekend’s “From Russia With Love” event celebrates Slavic culture. See traditional folk dances performed by the Brighton Ballet Company, make fish prints and check out such live Russian sea specimens as a morski kot (that’s a sea otter, to you). Noon to 4 p.m., free with aquarium admission ($12 for adults, $8 for kids). New York Aquarium, Surf Avenue and West Eighth Street, Brooklyn; (718) 265-FISH.

TOMORROW

COME SAIL AWAY: Grammy Award winner Dan Zanes adds sea shanties to his kid-rock repertoire with a sailor-themed singalong at South Street Seaport. Along with his usual friends, Zanes will be joined by such salty songsters as David Jones, the Mockler Family and Barbara Brousal. 2 and 4 p.m., $25. Speigelworld at Fulton Fish Market, South Street Seaport (Pier 17);

(212) 279-4200.

TRUNK SHOW: A new addition this year to the autumn festival circuit, the first annual Elephant Playground Fall Fair will feature a concert by Little Maestros, arts and crafts from Kidville and a real police car and fire truck for kids to explore in addition to the standard jumping castles, games and face-painting. Proceeds will help renovate the playground. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., free (bring cash for food and some activities). Elephant Playground, 76th Street and Riverside Drive;

(212) 870-3070.

STILL TO COME

ICE-COOL MUSICAL: The Wildcats trade their sneaks for skates when Disney’s “High School Musical: The Ice Tour” comes to town, putting a new spin on hit song and dance numbers like “We’re All in This Together.” Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 30 at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., $15 to $125. Madison Square Garden, Seventh Avenue, between 31st and 33rd streets; (212) 307-7171.
