HOOPS: Fordham falls at Syracuse

Freshman forward Donte Greene had 25 points as Syracuse (3-0) last night beat visiting Fordham, 80-63. Bryant Dunston led the Rams (1-2) with 20 points and nine rebounds.

* Brian McKenzie and Geoffrey McDermott combined for 33 points and 13 rebounds to lead Providence (2-0) to a 67-51 win over 18th-ranked Arkansas (2-1) at the Puerto Rico Tip-off in San Juan. The Friars (2-0) will face Miami (3-0) in the tournament championship tomorrow night.

* Jaytornah Wisseh scored a game-high 16 points and Long Island University used a 20-10 run over the final 7:44 to spoil Army’s home opener, 64-54, at West Point . . . Manny Ubilla scored 27 points to lead Fairleigh Dickinson (2-0) to a 98-92 victory over host Lafayette (1-2) . . . Rob Kurz scored 15 points to lead Notre Dame (2-0) to a 76-33 rout of Monmouth (0-3) at the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

SOCCER: Red Bulls buy out AEG

Red Bull New York finally bought out AEG’s 50 percent stake in the development of Red Bull Park, their 25,000-seat stadium under construction in Harrison, N.J. There are expected to be redesigns, which could delay the targeted 2009 opening.
