MIKE’S ‘LIMITED’ VIEWS

Although he supports term limits, Mayor Bloomberg said yesterday he’d be willing to allow a third referendum on the subject if that’s what voters want.

Some City Council members – who’ll be forced to find new jobs after 2009 – are discussing whether to try to pass a bill to extend term limits from eight to 12 years.

Bloomberg said the original law was drafted in a way that makes it unclear if the council has the authority.

In any case, the mayor said the matter should be left to the voters – who twice before have endorsed the current term-limits law.
