Even though the superstar singer and Dallas Cowboy quarterback have been reportedly dating for weeks, this is the first instant replay of the lovebirds in action as a couple.
Romo and Simpson, both 27, recently had Thanksgiving dinner together, a day after the Cowboys dispatched the visiting Jets on Turkey Day.
It’s a romance made in Lone Star heaven between gunslinging sensation Romo, now the toast of Texas Stadium, and Simpson, a native of nearby Richardson, Texas.
Page Six has reported that the budding romance can be traced to Simpson’s dad, Joe, who played matchmaker.
Even though Romo has been linked to country star and “American Idol” Carrie Underwood and “One Tree Hill” actress Sophia Bush, he’s apparently had his eye on the bubbly Simpson for a long time.
After becoming pals with dedicated Cowboy fan Joe Simpson, Romo asked him for his daughter’s phone number, according to Page Six.
They immediately hit it off, leading up to last month’s Thanksgiving dinner in Waco.
Not only is Romo dating one of America’s hottest blondes, he has followed up a solid first year as a starter with a second-year campaign that has America’s Team near the top of NFL standings.
His Cowboys have won 11 of their 12 games – and Romo said he wants to keep his thoughts on the football field and not on Simpson’s sexy curves.
On Monday, Romo attended teammate Terrell Owens’ 34th-birthday bash stag and declined to discuss his blossoming relationship.
“No date for me,” Romo said. “I’m not going to talk about my personal life tonight.”
During a postgame interview following the Cowboys’ victory over Green Bay last week, Romo winced after an ESPN reporter made a gratuitous reference to Simpson in asking the Dallas QB a question about his recent stellar play.
