CHARTING NASTIES’ HOLIDAY MUSICAL CHAIRS

MAGAZINE executives dread being seated in Siberia (dotted line at right) when they are invited to the Condé Nast annual holiday lunch. And with good reason.

As our Keith J. Kelly has been chronicling for the last several years, the seating chart for the Nasties’ November holiday party has been a barometer of who’s in and who’s out with Chairman Si Newhouse.

This year’s seating arrangement certainly foreshadowed the New Year’s massacre last week, as Golf Digest Group President Mitch Fox , Condé Nast Media Group Senior Vice President Amy Churgin and Lucky Publisher Sandy Golinkin all got the ax.

The winners? Condé Nast Portfolio President and Publisher David Carey, Lou Cona, the New Yorker publisher picked to replace Churgin, Tom Florio, who got senior VP title and the business side of Teen Vogue, and Bill Wackerman, the Glamour publisher boosted to a senior vice president title.
