RATNER CLEARS LAWSUIT HURDLE

A state judge yesterday dismissed one of two key lawsuits holding up construction of Bruce Ratner’s $4 billion Atlantic Yards project in Brooklyn, ruling the state conducted a proper environmental review before approving the controversial plan in December 2006.

Daniel Goldstein, of the opposition group Develop Don’t Destroy Brooklyn, isn’t giving up.

“Let’s be clear: Atlantic Yards cannot move forward while 13 plaintiffs – homeowners, business owners and tenants – are in federal court in a separate case challenging the state’s use of eminent domain to acquire private land,” said Goldstein. Atlantic Yards would bring an NBA arena for Ratner’s Nets and 16 skyscrapers.
