ALUMINUM IS SCAFF-SCOLDED

Workers at the Trump SoHo construction site yesterday charged that the use of aluminum rather than stronger steel poles to build cement-supporting scaffolding might have contributed to the fatal collapse of that structure.

“This aluminum – it’s no good!” fumed one worker at the Spring Street site. “The beams are too weak!”

The Post has learned that investigators of Monday’s collapse on the unfinished 42nd floor of the planned hotel-condo – which led to one worker plummeting to his death – suspect it was caused by the scaffolding’s assembled poles violently buckling, sending wet cement, wood and other debris flying.
