MORE MIKE?

Mike Piazza has drawn interest from multiple teams and is aiming to decide on his future in the next week, his agent told The Post yesterday.

The 39-year-old former Met wants to keep playing but is looking for what he considers to be an ideal opportunity. Failing that, agent Dan Lozano acknowledged it is possible Piazza could retire. Within the next week, Piazza hopes to have a decision.

“At this point, he’s still waiting on his options. We’ve had interest from about four or five teams,” Lozano said. “I would say we’re down to two teams to try to see if there’s a perfect fit.”

Lozano wouldn’t reveal the two teams but said there is one from the AL and one from the NL.

“The right fit is more about playing time than it is about money or city,” Lozano said. “If there isn’t a right fit, which obviously Mike’s going to have to evaluate and make that decision, maybe it’s time for the next chapter in his life.”

Lozano said Piazza, currently in Miami, is in shape. The talks with the two primary teams are “still in the courting stage,” the agent said.

Piazza putting up solid numbers in 2007 with the A’s, hitting .275 with eight homers and 44 RBIs in 83 games and 309 at-bats due to a shoulder injury. Piazza was exclusively a DH and did not play behind the plate.

Piazza played 99 games as a backstop for the Padres in 2006, batting .283 with 22 homers and 68 RBIs after eight seasons with the Mets. Piazza owns career marks of a .308 average, 427 homers and 1,335 RBIs and is likely destined for Cooperstown.

According to Lozano, Piazza will not play overseas in Japan.
