MARBURY TELLS POST: ‘I’M THERE’

Stephon Marbury told The Post in an e-mail this morning that he will make his first appearance at the Garden tonight since having ankle surgery Jan. 22.

“I’m there,” Marbury wrote in this morning’s e-mail to The Post.

In the raging feud between the Knicks’ former star point guard and their coach/president, Isiah Thomas had told media members Marbury would attend Monday’s game vs. New Orleans. The remark came after the stir following The Post’s story last week that Marbury was told by Thomas not to attend home games and was under a gag order.

But Marbury was a no-show Monday and The Post reported yesterday he didn’t attend because Thomas never personally invited him and didn’t think he was welcome. Marury told a friend, “Isiah’s playing games with the media.”

Marbury is expected to break his silence tonight before the game vs. the Cavaliers.

Thomas repeated this morning he expected Marbury to be in attendance. Apparently, this time Thomas gave Marbury a formal invite. Marbury, who’s rehabbing his injury at the team’s Westchester practice facility, has told friends he is out the rest of the season, though Thomas said he was still holding out hope Marbury can play.

However, Thomas talked last week about next season’s backcourt and did not include Marbury. This morning, Thomas amended that, saying of Marbury’s future that he “is still under contract.”

Marbury and Thomas did not speak to one another for two weeks following his surgery, according to a source.
