Gaza propaganda

“Norwegian doctor Mads Gilbert, a radical Marxist who openly supports Hamas and the 9/11 hijackers, is seen once again in this CNN video about the death of a ‘freelance cameraman’s’ brother in Gaza – and the footage in the hospital room was very likely staged for propaganda effect. Reader “Last Mohican” makes a strong case that this is an obvious fake: ‘I’m no military expert, but I am a doctor, and this video is bull. The large man in the white coat was NOT performing CPR on that child. He was just sort of tapping on the child’s sternum a little bit with his fingers.’ [CNN later removed the video without explanation].”

Changing the rules

“Democrats in Congress, led by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, plan on a spending spree that will push budget deficits to a trillion dollars while an entitlement-system crash awaits us in the next two decades. Until now, a House rule has forced the lower chamber each year to acknowledge the disaster awaiting the largest entitlement program by debating Medicare’s funding and direction. Now, Pelosi and the Democrats have a solution to Medicare’s collapse – change the rule to skip the debate. Basically, this is the same as fixing the ENGINE TROUBLE light on your car by covering it with electrical tape and then launching a 3,000 mile road trip. What could go wrong?”

The King

“The 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death has passed, and news reports have stressed his continuing influence on music, culture, and race relations. But they missed Elvis’s greatest achievement: as a cultural response to totalitarianism. After Elvis, rock and roll occupied the mindspace that totalitarians need, and it out-competed them. When the Berlin Wall fell, Elvis and the musicians who came afterward deserved as much credit as the Strategic Air Command.”
