‘LOST’ FEMME FATALE

BRITISH actress Zuleikha Robinson is playing one of only three new characters in the new season of “Lost,” which starts tonight.

Known for her role as Gaia – a defiant and sultry brothel manager in the HBO historical drama “Rome” – Robinson will be a dangerous European femme fatale named Iiana, who promises to be at the center of some of the show’s heart-pumping cliffhangers.

“When you meet Ilana, you’re not really sure what side she’s on – whether she’s good or bad,” says Robinson. “She’s on a mission of sorts, which the audience will discover by around the 10th episode. She’s a character who uses her sexuality to get what she wants. She knows how to use that power.”

Though she won’t reveal many specifics surrounding Ilana’s storyline, Robinson said writers for the show are working to “tie up a lot of loose ends.” Ilana won’t appear until next month and will appear in eight episodes, she says.

Robinson, 31, born in the UK and raised in Thailand and Malaysia, caught the attention of Damon Lindeloff (co-creator, producer) and Carlton Cuse (writer) during her stint in “Rome.” Fans of the HBO series, they called her to read a scene and cast her immediately.
