CAN-DEAD CAMERA

She spent her life on reality television shows and now Jade Goody is going to die on one.

The 27-year-old, who’s rapidly succumbing to cervical cancer, became a star in Britain for her exploits on “Big Brother” in 2002 and “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2007.

With weeks to live, she is negotiating a multimillion-dollar deal to have her final days filmed.

“I know some people don’t like what I’m doing, but at this point I really don’t care what other people think,” she told the newspaper News of the World. “Now, it’s about what I want.”

Goody is unknown in the United States, but in Britain, she has become a household name, thanks to antics including a race-fueled feud with Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty on “Celebrity Big Brother,” her relationships with a news anchor and others, her attempts to lose weight, and her various nightclub scuffles.

To her, selling the film rights to the moment of her death to the highest bidder is nothing to be ashamed of.

“Yes, people will say I’m doing this for money,” she told News of the World. “And they’re right, I am. But not to buy flash cars or big houses. It’s for my sons’ future if I’m not here.”

She has two sons: Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4.

“If cancer has taught me anything, it’s that big houses aren’t important, being rich isn’t important. It’s my sons who are important, it’s being alive that’s important,” she said.

The charming ignorance she displayed on “Big Brother” endeared her to millions of viewers.

In 2002, she suggested: “Rio de Janeiro – ain’t that a person?” and later claimed that she was an “escape goat.”

Her stint on that show led to gigs hosting other shows, and the her antics made her a staple of the gossip pages.

Her battle with cancer was chronicled on a documentary series called “Living,” for which she was paid handsomely.

This month, she learned that despite various treatments and surgeries, her case was terminal and she has only weeks to live.

Shortly after getting the devastating news, Goody became engaged to her on-again off-again boyfriend, Jack Tweed, and arranged what is expected to be a lavish wedding.

She shopped for a dress at Harrods. She also started to plan her own funeral – all with camera crews in tow.

“I’ve lived in front of the cameras,” she said. “And maybe I’ll die in front of them.”

Goody has been willing to share the news of her impending death with the world, but has managed to shield her children from the news.

“What’s the point? They don’t know what death means, and it will frighten them,” she told News of the World. “The truth is, they don’t really understand what’s happening to me, which is good — I think.” With Post Wire Reports
